OPENING NIGHT PRESENTED BY SWEDISH

As part of Seattle’s home opener, the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Sue Bird Bobblehead to celebrate her WNBA assist record last season! Seattle has won nine of its last 12 home openers and is aiming for its second straight home opener victory after defeating the Indiana Fever 87-82 last season on May 14.

A HOT START

Rookie and fifth overall pick Jordin Canada has gotten off to a very strong start, helping the Storm to its first undefeated preseason since 2013. Over two games, she averaged 16 points and three assists while shooting 93 percent from the free throw line.

HOME OPENERS AGAINST PHOENIX

Seattle has faced Phoenix in home openers three times since the leagues inception, going a perfect 3-0. The Storm defeated the Mercury in its second ever home opener on May 30, 2001, with a final score of 83-70. The most recent victory came on June 2, 2013 where the Seattle beat Phoenix 75-72.

Sunday will be the official 2018 debut of WNBA games being broadcasted on Twitter. Seattle will be the fourth and final game streamed on Twitter for the day. The three other games being streamed on Twitter before the Storm game are the Las Vegas Aces vs. Connecticut Sun, Atlanta Dream vs. Dallas wings and New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky.
